Collision on district road 6180 leaves three injured and €60,000 in property damage

What happened?

On Tuesday afternoon (October 29, 2024), three people were injured in a serious accident on the K 6180 district road between the Mühlingen and Schwackenreute districts in the Lake Constance district.

According to initial information, a 55-year-old Audi driver was traveling from Schwackenreute towards Mühlingen when he veered into the oncoming lane for reasons that are still unclear.

There, his vehicle collided head-on with a VW Golf driven by a 21-year-old man. The impact of the collision was so strong that both cars were thrown off the road.

Consequences of the accident

The two drivers and a 48-year-old female passenger in the Golf were injured and taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance.

Due to the severity of the accident, the K 6180 had to be closed for several hours. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mühlingen (Mühlingen Volunteer Fire Department) as well as emergency medical personnel from the DRK (German Red Cross) and the Johanniter Unfall Hilfe (Johanniter Accident Aid) were deployed.

The police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. According to initial estimates, the property damage amounts to around €60,000.
