Deadly accident in Ebersheim near Mainz

A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday evening in Ebersheim near Mainz, resulting in the death of one person.

Around 7:40 pm, a 57-year-old man was driving his car on the L426 towards Ebersheim when he veered off the road due to unknown reasons.

The vehicle then crashed into a tree and overturned. First responders, including the fire department, rescue service, and police, were dispatched to the scene.

Despite the efforts of emergency personnel, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the police.

The L426 was closed for several hours while the police conducted their investigation and the wreckage was cleared. Traffic was diverted via Ebersheim and Zornheim.

The identity of the deceased driver has not yet been released. The police are asking any witnesses to the accident to come forward with any information they may have.
