Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group acquires leading Canadian lift manufacturer
Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group, based in Austria, has acquired the assets of leading Canadian lift manufacturer, Leitner-Poma of America.
The acquisition includes all of Leitner-Poma of America's operations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The Leitner-Poma of America name will disappear and its operations will be renamed Doppelmayr USA, Doppelmayr Canada, and Doppelmayr Mexico.
Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of ropeways and ski lifts.
The group has over 15,000 installations in 96 countries and employs over 3,500 people worldwide.
Leitner-Poma of America is a leading manufacturer of ropeways and ski lifts in North America.
The company has over 500 installations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico and employs over 200 people.
The acquisition of Leitner-Poma of America will strengthen Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group's position in the North American market.
It will also allow the group to offer a wider range of products and services to its customers in the region.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
