FC Schalke 04: A New Era Begins
Schalke 04 has appointed Thomas Reis as their new head coach, replacing Dimitrios Grammozis.
Reis, 48, has been out of work since leaving Bochum in February and has signed a contract until the end of the season with the option of an additional year.
He will be tasked with turning around Schalke's fortunes after a difficult start to the season that has seen them win just one of their first eight games in the Bundesliga 2.
Reis is a former player who has coached Bochum and Duisburg.
He is known for his attacking style of play and will be looking to get Schalke playing on the front foot.
Schalke are currently 16th in the Bundesliga 2 table and will be hoping that Reis can help them push for promotion back to the Bundesliga.
Reis will be looking to make an immediate impact at Schalke.
His first game in charge will be against Hannover 96 on Saturday.
Schalke will be hoping that Reis can help them get back to winning ways and start to climb the table.
