FC St. Pauli: Frustrated Captain Wants to Break the Knot
Disappointing Result Against Dynamo Dresden
FC St. Pauli suffered a disappointing 1-1 draw against Dynamo Dresden in the 2. Bundesliga on Sunday. The Kiezkicker took the lead through striker Etienne Amenyido in the first half, but Dresden equalized in the second half through midfielder Christoph Daferner.
The result leaves St. Pauli in 12th place in the table, six points behind the promotion playoff places. Captain Philipp Ziereis was frustrated with the team's performance after the match.
Ziereis Calls for Improvement
"We have to break the knot"
"We have to break the knot," Ziereis said. "We're not playing well enough at the moment. We're making too many mistakes and we're not creating enough chances. We need to improve quickly if we want to achieve our goals this season."
St. Pauli have now won just one of their last five matches in all competitions. Their next match is at home to Karlsruher SC on Saturday.
