Halloween and Reformation Day on October 31: Pastor Sebastian Müller combines both
A new service for Halloween and Reformation Day
On October 31, Halloween and Reformation Day are celebrated. Pastor Sebastian Müller from the Protestant parish in Erbach combines both events in a new service. The aim is to create a low-threshold offer for people who are not yet so close to the church.
Halloween with a Reformation message
The service called "Reformation Treats" will take place at 6 p.m. in the Protestant church in Erbach. The service deals with the Reformation message in a playful way, for example with sweets. Thus, a play on words is created: "Treats" as in sweets and as in the English translation of Reformation, namely "treat".
The theses as sweets
In the service, the 95 theses will be presented as sweets with different flavors and colors. The taste is intended to symbolize the diversity of the flavors and the diversity of the congregation. The theses are not only presented, but also what is behind them is explained in an understandable way.
Who's the man behind it?
Sebastian Müller grew up in the Westerwald and studied theology in Wuppertal and Heidelberg. After working as a pastor in the Siegerland, Bergisches Land and Bonn, he moved to Erbach in 2022. He is committed to a contemporary church service that is close to people.
