In front of 8,691 spectators at the Jahnstadion, the second division team defeated Bundesliga relegated SpVgg Greuther Fürth 1-0 (0-0).
The winning goal for the Upper Palatinate team was scored by Kaan Caliskaner in the 64th minute. Regensburg deserved to win overall, as they had the better chances in the game against Fürth, who had recently been promoted to the Bundesliga.
