Leipzig's Savannah Christophel reaches the final of "The Piano"
Leipzig student Savannah Christophel has made it to the final of the VOX show "The Piano". In the semi-final on Tuesday evening, the 23-year-old prevailed against four other candidates and secured a place in the final on May 2nd.
Christophel studies piano at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. She has been playing the piano since she was six years old and has won numerous competitions, such as the Jugend musiziert state competition and the Deutscher Hochschulwettbewerb.
In the semi-final of "The Piano", Christophel impressed the jury with her performance of "Clair de Lune" by Claude Debussy and "Sonata in A minor" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The jury praised her sensitive playing and her technical brilliance.
In the final, Christophel will compete against three other candidates for the title of "The Piano" winner. The winner will receive a recording contract with Universal Music and a concert tour.
