Lilly Becker reveals Boris Becker is 'sick' in prison

Boris Becker's ex-wife Lilly has claimed that the tennis legend is "very sick" in prison.

Lilly Becker, 46, revealed that she recently visited the 55-year-old former Wimbledon champion who was last month jailed for two and a half years for hiding £2.5m of assets and loans to avoid paying debts.

Speaking to German magazine Gala, she said: "I recently visited Boris in prison. He's very sick. He's lost a lot of weight. He has lost muscle mass. He has lost his smile. He's just skin and bones."

Boris Becker was forced to declare bankruptcy in June 2017 after failing to pay a £3m loan on his property in Spain. In April this year, he was convicted of four Insolvency Act offenses, including failing to declare two properties in Germany, and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Lilly Becker said she was "shocked" by her ex-husband's appearance, adding: "I don't know how long he can take it. He's not getting any better. He's getting worse and worse."

She also revealed that Boris Becker is "struggling to cope" with prison life and is "having nightmares" about being attacked.

"He's afraid of being attacked," she said. "He's afraid of being killed. He's afraid of everything. He's not the Boris I know."

Lilly Becker said she is "doing everything" she can to support Boris Becker, but admitted that the situation is "very difficult."

"I'm trying to be strong for him," she said. "But it's very difficult. I'm worried about him. I don't know how much longer he can take it."

Boris Becker is currently serving his sentence at HMP Huntercombe in Oxfordshire. He is due to be released in October 2023.
