No home win again: FC St. Pauli only draws 0-0 against Wolfsburg

FC St. Pauli remains winless at home in the 2nd Bundesliga. Against VfL Wolfsburg II, the Kiezkicker did not go beyond a 0-0 draw on Friday evening in front of 29,546 spectators.

St. Pauli started the game well and had the first chance of the game through Etienne Amenyido in the 10th minute. But Wolfsburg goalkeeper Pavao Pervan was able to save the shot from a tight angle. Wolfsburg had the best chance of the first half shortly after: After a mistake by St. Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj, Bartosz Bialek ran free towards the goal, but Vasilj was able to make amends for his mistake and save the shot (15th).

In the second half, St. Pauli increased the pressure, but was unable to create any real scoring chances. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, became more dangerous on the counterattack. In the 65th minute, St. Pauli’s David Nemeth had the best chance to win the game, but his shot from close range went just wide.

In the end, both teams had to settle for a draw. FC St. Pauli remains in 11th place in the table, while VfL Wolfsburg II is now 17th.
