SC Riessersee and SC Bietigheim Steelers Relegated to Oberliga
Riessersee and Bietigheim Steelers Exit DEL2
The SC Riessersee and the SC Bietigheim Steelers have been relegated from the DEL2 after losing their respective playoff series to the EV Landshut and the Eispiraten Crimmitschau. For Riessersee, it's their first relegation since the 2011/12 season, while for Bietigheim, it's their first relegation since 2015/16.
Riessersee's Struggles Continue
Riessersee finished the regular season in 14th place, just one point ahead of Bietigheim in 15th. They were then swept by Landshut in the first round of the playoffs, losing all three games by a combined score of 12-3. It was a disappointing end to a season that began with a lot of promise, as Riessersee had won the DEL2 Cup in September.
Bietigheim's Season Ends in Disappointment

They were then swept by Crimmitschau in the first round of the playoffs, losing all three games by a combined score of 12-3.
