Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum Split After 3 Years — and He Has a Love Tattoo

Multiple sources reveal the couple broke up by mutual decision, but continue to be good friends, even with a big reminder of their relationship on Tatum's body

Sources told PEOPLE that Kravitz and Tatum remain "very amicable" and are "both very happy" with the decision of the split.

After nearly three years of dating, Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum have called it quits, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.

The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in the summer of 2021, have split amicably, the sources say.

"They split up a few weeks ago," says one insider. "They're still very amicable and supportive of each other and remain close friends."

Another source adds, "They have a lot of love and respect for each other and have been through a lot together. They're just in different places right now."

Kravitz, 34, and Tatum, 42, first met in 2017 on the set of their upcoming film Pussy Island, which Kravitz wrote, directed and stars in, and Tatum has a supporting role.

The two remained friends for years until they were spotted together in August 2021.

They confirmed their relationship in January 2022 when Tatum accompanied Kravitz to the premiere of her film The Batman.

The couple kept their relationship relatively private, but they did share some sweet moments together on social media.

In June 2022, Tatum posted a photo of Kravitz on Instagram and wrote, "One day, you'll wake up and there it is. Someone who doesn't want to change you because you're perfect as you are. Someone who is willing to grow with you. Someone who will love you for exactly what you are, good or bad, flaws and all. You don't have to be perfect for them. They will love you because you're perfectly you. ❤️"

The couple also sparked engagement rumors in March 2023 when Kravitz was spotted wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand.

However, it is unclear if they were ever actually engaged.

Tatum has a tattoo on his inner forearm that reads "Zoë," which he got in 2021.

It is unclear if he plans to remove the tattoo now that they have split.
