Wolfsburg advance to the next round – and end Dortmund's DFB Cup dream

What a drama in the DFB Cup! VfL Wolfsburg sensationally threw Borussia Dortmund out of the competition with a 1-0 win. The decisive goal was scored by Jonas Wind in the 81st minute.

Dortmund started the game as the clear favorites, but they were unable to use their chances in the first half. On the other hand, Wolfsburg acted more efficient and took the lead in the second half.

Sahin's last game for BVB

The game was also special for Nuri Sahin. The 34-year-old played his last game for Borussia Dortmund and was substituted in the 78th minute.

After the final whistle, there were tears of joy at Wolfsburg and tears of disappointment at Dortmund. For Wolfsburg, it was the first win against Dortmund in the DFB Cup since 2015.

Dortmund, on the other hand, is eliminated from the DFB Cup in the second round for the second time in a row.
