Nepal needed to win by 7 wickets to qualify for ODI status, but they fell short despite a valiant effort.
Scotland batted first and scored 140 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Nepal then took to the crease and managed to score 135 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.
Nepal's captain, Sandeep Lamichhane, was the team's top scorer with 29 runs, while Scotland's Chris Greaves was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets.
