VfL Wolfsburg reached the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday after defeating Borussia Dortmund 6-5 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Yannick Gerhardt gave Wolfsburg the lead in the 60th minute, but Dortmund substitute Steffen Tigges equalised in the 75th minute to force extra time.

In the penalty shootout, Dortmund missed two of their first three spot-kicks, while Wolfsburg scored all six of theirs.
Wolfsburg will now face RB Leipzig in the semi-finals, while Dortmund's hopes of winning a domestic double this season are over.

Dortmund's first miss came from Jude Bellingham, who saw his spot-kick saved by Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels.
Dortmund's second miss came from Nico Schlotterbeck, who hit the post.

Wolfsburg's victory over Dortmund means they have reached the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal for the first time since 2015.
Wolfsburg will now face RB Leipzig in the semi-finals, who defeated Union Berlin 2-1 on Tuesday.
The DFB-Pokal final will be played on May 27 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
